Happy Birthday Pavlicek!

Paul was 35 yesterday so we celebrated by going to a Vietnamese restaurant in Dalston called Huong-Viet. The food was delicious. I also attempted to bake a surprise birthday cake but the smell gave me away. Oh well!

Jabtastic

I went to see the nurse on Monday & began my mammoth series of vaccinations for Diptheria, Tenatus, Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Meningitis ACW & Y. Only Hepatitis B, Japanese B Encephalitis, TB, Chicken Pox & Rabies to go. I think I'll be like a sieve by the time I'm done. Still, I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Makes you think about all the people facing these kind of health risks every day too. The nurse told me about a girl that she treated who was bitten by a rabid dog in Goa. It sounded pretty nasty.

Had fun at Ben's party. Got some good tips from him about places to visit in South East Asia & Oz. Also talked to Dawn & Phil who are doing a similar trip with some different destinations at about the same time as us. It was good to have a good natter & compare itineraries. Hope to meet up with them at some point if our plans coincide.

Off to Manchester

We're visiting Ben in Manchester this weekend. He's having a Bollywood/Hollywood party. Hoping to get some travelling tips from him too. We're easing into budget travel slowly by taking the coach.

After over a decade of work, Paul & I were about to mortgage ourselves up to our necks when we had the bright idea of just not bothering & going travelling instead. The plan is to leave in October 07 so we have the next four months to prepare. Thought I'd set up a blog as a way of staying in touch with family & friends. Here we go ...
