Cricket

Managed to catch a one day international match between Sri Lanka & Australia at the MCG.

Walk by the Docks

We're on the road!

Just a quick post to let you know that we're on the road now in the van & won't be coming across internet access as often so things may slow up on the blogging & emailing for a while. We'll be back soon so don't stop sending your news & comments. We'll blog & mail when we can.

Roo Burger

After trips to a few veggie cafes Paul is ready for some flesh. At the Suzuki night market he gets more than he bargained for. A kangaroo burger with an emu sausage & crocodile tail fillet on the side.

More Drinks

Here we are catching up with another Pom and recovering bookseller Will and his girlfriend Michelle who spotted some 'Neighbours' stars sneaking in to the bar while we were there. It's ages since I've watched it so none of the names sounded familiar except Susan Kennedy.

Fitzroy

When we hear that there's an area in Melbourne called Fitzroy we have to go. Brunswick Street is the centre of things and is full of great veggie cafes, bars, secondhand bookshops, independent record shops, vintage boutiques & some fab street art.

Royal Botanical Gardens

The botanical gardens in Melbourne are beautiful. Sometimes Australia feels quite familiar but when you look at the flora & fauna it becomes very obvious that you're in a different continent. We see macadamia nut trees & hear lots of squarking birds but somehow miss the resident fruit bats.
