Prospect Park

We get ourselves a copy of the New York Times & settle down in Prospect Park with most of the rest of Brooklyn to enjoy the late summer sunshine. There's an enthusiastically supported game of cricket going on that we enjoy watching too.

Kerry, have you heard about Netherland by Joseph O'Neill? (It was longlisted for the Booker, not that that means anything necessarily, as we all know). It's all about a Dutch bloke living in New York who befriends the Prospect Park cricket players (lots of cricket stuff but also about immigrant experience (his and theirs) in NY, the city's identity post 9/11 blah blah, his relationship with his wife and their disintegrating marriage...) Anyway seeing these photos made me think of it.

Can't wait to see you! You and Paul look so well and happy xx

Oh, I'm not meant to be Bo! It's Amber, by the way (Bo is the bump's name, for reasons I shall explain in person!) xx
