After driving back to Portland to drop off our hire car we take a train to Seattle where we'll be staying for a few days until we travel up to Vancouver to meet my dad. It's been a hot summer's day here & the sun's just setting over the river when we arrive. We pop into a bar called 'Books, Ale & Wine' for a cool drink which turns out to be an English themed pub with Sam Smith brews & copies of the London Review of Books for your perusal. Back at out hotel we discover that having a 'European style' bathroom means that you don't have a bathroom (?) but feel consoled by the most inventive towel origami we've seen yet.
