We wanted to fit in a walk around Mount St Helens before we left this area but a rock slide has caused the road to be blocked off so we have to make do with looking at it from this viewpoint at Bear Meadow. Mount St Helens, like all the mountains in this region is volcanic & last errupted in 1980. At the viewpoint photographs of the erruption are displayed that were takem just before the photographer & his party had to run for their lives.
