We leave Seattle & get the bus over the border into Canada. We're staying at the fab YWCA hostel in Vancouver. On our second morning in the city we take the bus out to the airport to meet my Dad's plane. He's leaving Europe for the first time ever to visit his friend, Timmy who moved here 38 years ago. It's something Dad's been meaning to do for many years & us being here too just gave him that extra push that he needed to make the journey. While we're waiting for his plane to arrive we busy ourselves looking at this beautiful sculpture in the airport arrivals lounge. It's by native Canadian artist Bill Reid. The figure in the last photo reminds me a little of Little My from the Moomin books.
