Spice Plantation

Visiting spice plantations is a big contender for my favourite bit of our trip so far. We get to see cardamon, pepper, allspice, nutmeg, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon & coffee beans growing & are able to taste the fresh pods & leaves. The flavour is so much more intense than after they've been dried & it's really fascinating to see how they grow, are harvested & preserved. When I buy my spices from Bumblebee in the future I'll think about them in a completely new way. The first picture is cardamon, the second is peppercorns, the third is the vine the peppercorns grow on & the final picture is the stuff we pocketed on the way round.
