Here is our first view of Chihuahua as we arrive on the overnight bus. We've crossed another time zone and gained an hour during the night. After some very welcome badgering from the bloke sitting behind us the bus driver was eventually persuaded to turn his mariachi music down a notch below deafening & we were able to get some sleep. We shared our bus with several Mennonite families. Their descendants moved to Mexico in the 1920s to escape religious persecution & there has been a large Mennonite population in the villages surrounding Chihuahua ever since.
