Rainy Zacatecas

Unfortunately apart from our trip to the silver mine our two days in Zacatecas have been literally a bit of a wash out. Despite reportedly having the most arid climate in Mexico it does nothing but pour down the whole time we're here. Rain in Zacatecas is the tourist's equivalent of leaves on the line for British train passengers. Basically everything stops & no-one can figure out why. Nothing is open, the cable car doesn't run, even the cathedral is locked. We have to content ourselves with some snaps of the outside before dashing to the nearest cafe. Happily we have some great food here to console us, lovely enchiladas in a smoky chipotle chilli cream sauce. We also find a nice bar to sink some perfectly made & very cheap margaritas. Not so bad after all.
