We visit Akihabara which is famous for its Otaku, or geeks. There are hundreds of electrical gadget shops here but we were here looking for the maids. Maid chic is big in Akiba you can buy maid outfits & all kinds of maid accessories. Young girls dressed as maids hand out flyers on the street for maid cafes. I want to know what all the fuss is about & persuade a reluctant Paul to go to one for lunch. We choose one called 'I Love Maid'. Strangely as a twenty year old girl appears wearing a pinny & garter to pour Paul's tea he suddenly perks up! Sadly they won't allow photos. We stick to the basic refreshments but it's possible to have your feet massaged by a maid or to get one to play 'paper,scissors,stone' with you if you want to pay extra. The maid mania appears to have spread & we spot this bloke also dressed as a maid dancing to his own tune in the middle of the street & pretending to shoot people with his plastic gun.
