Matsumoto

When we arrive in Matsumoto we find out at the tourist office that a month long festival promoting foreign tourism has just begun meaning lots of discounts for us. Hurrah! We're also given these charms as presents. We manage to find a lovely Japanese room in a cheap hotel complete with tea set & possibly the oldest functional video recorder in Japan. We can't for the life of us work out what the thing in the final picture is though. It was in the bathroom, wrapped in a sterilized paper, is made of rough fabric and had press stud fastenings. Any ideas?

it's a cape hanger. you obviously have never hung your capes up properly. That's probably why paul's cape always looked so creased.

Apparently a toilet seat cover - makes it a bit warmer than cold, hard plastic!
