Winters must've been pretty tough in the Japanese Alps before electricity.
There are craftspeople demonstating weaving and woodcarving methods that were used in these times, traditions that are still being upheld today. Dad, you would have loved the woodcarving. Sadly no photos were allowed in his studio.
We finally get to cook our first meal for ourselves in over three and a half months tonight. We have soba noodles with these beautiful Japanese mushrooms.
