When we go into the visitors' centre in Takai Kozan Kinenkan we are immediately greeted by the friendliest man I've ever met. He sits us down and brings us tea and oranges. Not being united by a common language we do pretty well with smiling and nodding then suddenly he gets up and runs off. Just as we're wondering where he's got to he runs back with a mounted Kansai character that he gives us as a gift. He really is the nicest man ever. From the way that he keeps smiling & asking if Paul is my husband I think it has some romantic connotation. Chiho, can you help?
In the grounds to the studio there is a well. We have a look down & can't see the bottom. Thinking about all the Murakami books I've read I get all shivery looking down it & wonder if there's a girl or maybe a cat down there.

It means "You who's that lanky berk with you beautiful" - just kidding - it means "Love" or Ai in Japanese
