Very reluctantly we have to leave Caqalai. The dive instructor tells us that the woman who stayed in our bure before us was here for three and a half months. I can see how that can happen in a place like this. It's so peaceful & the first place that we've travelled to that really does feel cut off from modern technology & the rest of the world. It really feels like being on a desert island. We haven't missed our creature comforts here at all. We've had great company & a wonderful time. Karina & Jules who travelled across to Caqalai with us on the boat from the mainland come to wave us off as we go. It's too emotional for the cat & he stays in the bure. There are just four of us on the boat today. Alec & Jo sport their farewell hibiscus flowers with pride as do we when we sail off & say goodbye to Caqalai wiping away a tear.
