Monte Alban was inhabited continually for thousands of years and then suddenly abandonned. No-one knows why but after watching the exhausted faces of the cyclists that we overtake on the bus journey up there we think perhaps the hike up the hill just got a bit too much. We're rewarded by superb panoramic views of Oaxaca City & the surrounding countryside.
