Lovo

The food on the island is really good. We have freshly made scones or donuts for breakfast each morning and the vegetarians among us are well catered for with lots of fresh fruit & vegetables. One lunchtime we have a lovo which is a traditional Fijian banquet where the food is cooked wrapped in banana leaves on hot stones which are buried in the ground. It gives everything a lovely smoky flavour. The veggies have taro, cassava, fern in cocunut milk & & those little bunches of green things at the top of the plate are sea grapes. It was all delicious.
